Cloud services introduce lower costs and higher performance
With around 200 employees and a turnover of €370 million, the church housing company, Joseph Foundation, is one of the largest housing companies in northern Bavaria. Its core business areas include construction and management of fixed assets, property development, property management for third parties and construction management.
A streamlined team is responsible for IT services at the Foundation’s 12 sites and amongst its mobile workspaces. That’s why the department looked for a partner when its outdated server and storage systems were holding back progress.
Challenge
Until recently, the Joseph Foundation’s IT department relied on server and client virtualisation in its self-controlled data centre. However, the small IT team quickly reached capacity in its outdated storage and server systems, and needed help to assist with administrative tasks, data protection and security. Assistance was also required as the department wanted to adopt constant, real-time monitoring across all of its locations, networks and systems.
Solution
Because updating the on-premises infrastructure would have involved considerable investment, we developed an innovative managed cloud solution that incorporated 24/7 cloud services. These involved the operation of server and storage systems. We also removed the heterogeneous network infrastructure from individual locations and introduced a managed, corporate WAN. Our team is monitoring all WAN and LAN connections, network components and systems round-the-clock.
